The Zul Hijjah moon is likely to be seen on August 2, 2019, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has announced.

Eid Al Adha will, therefore, be observed on August 12 if the moon is sighted on Friday, August 2.

In the UAE, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced a four-day holiday for Eid Al Adha for the private and public sectors.

The holiday of Eid Al Adha in UAE will begin on the 9th of the Zul Hijjah and last until the 12th.

Earlier this year, Pakistan launched a lunar calendar and the country's first moon-sighting website amid much controversy.

Pakistan's Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain had launched the country's official moon-sighting website and lunar calendar.

He said that as per lunar calendar, Eid Al Adha would be celebrated on on August 12 this year.
