In an optimistic bid to ensure the new Pakistani government follows through with its pre-election promises, a Dubai-based national has set up a website to that effect.
The "Khanmeter" is a website dedicated to tracking the progress of promises made by newly elected Prime Minister, Imran Khan.
According to the creator, Salman Saeed, he took his inspiration from the US and Egyptian meters, Obameter and Morismeter, as a "minor contribution to a better democracy", as seen on his website khanmeter.com.
The site functions more as a forum where people can also monitor the progress and comment on the new government's compliance with its pre-election promises.
Its layout is easily accessible to the public, with sections of "promises" in governance, federation, economy, agriculture, water, society and security.
Examples of promises in the governance section include "reform the civil service" and "empower people at the grassroots through local government".
A section on rules stipulates that any offensive, spam, irrelevant, or non-Urdu or non-English comments will be deleted.
