Mongolia and Switzerland signed a visa-free agreement on Thursday for diplomatic and official passport holders, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The deal was inked  between Mongolian Foreign Minister Damdin Tsogtbaatar and his  Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis. The Swiss minister visited the country in order to sign the agreement between the two countries.
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on a wide range of issues in a bid to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation in various fields such as politics, trade and investment.
Cassis arrived earlier in the day for a three-day visit, which marked the first time that a Swiss foreign minister has ever visited Mongolia since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1964.
