Video: 'Supercop' stops unmanned SUV with bare hands before it hit students

Carmo was able to grab onto the door frame and drag his feet.

A police officer, from Connecticut, averted a major tragedy when he stopped a driverless SUV with his bare hands before it crushed students walking down the road.
Bridgeport Schools Resource Officer Carlos Carmo Jr. was on patrol on Bridgeport Avenue when he noticed the runaway SUV rolling down busy intersection. Surveillance footage shows Carmo running after the SUV and trying to stop it whilst two passengers seated inside screamed out of panic.
According to reports in ABC News, Carmo was able to grab onto the door frame and drag his feet, stopping it right before the sidewalk where several students had just got out of school. "That's just one of those things where your instinct kicks in and you do what you got to do to keep these kids safe," Carmo said.

The four-year veteran of Bridgeport Police Department added that he yelled to get attention of the students on the sidewalk but they were all wearing their headphones. "They basically didn't hear me. I don't even think they knew what was going on until it was over," Carmo said.
Following the incident that took place on December 16, Carmo is being hailed a hero for saving several lives. The cop sustained minor injuries.
