Australia’s greatest and historic sporting event the Melbourne Cup Carnival welcomed His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on its opening day.
Shaikh Mohammed, who was accompanied by Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, was greeted by celebrities and racing fans alike as he toured the Flemington Racecourse, which hosts over 400,000 people during the four-day racing,
The event also marks the 150th running of Emirates Melbourne Cup.
Shaikh Mohammed and Shaikh Ahmed visited one of the most talked about venues at the racecourse, the Emirates Marquee, which plays hosts to over 1,000 guests, celebrities, socialites and media during the Carnival.
