Mujaazef faces the toughest test of his career when the four-year-old gelded son of Dubawi face the challenge of the brilliant mare Alo Pura in the 1200m TB Conditions seventh race of the fifth meet at Jebel Ali racecourse on Friday.

The first of the seven races on the card starts at 1.55pm and all races are included in the public pick-seven competition.

Unbeaten in all three starts over 1000m and 1400m distances at the same course this season, Mujaazef is looking forward to claim his fourth straight win. Richard Hills, who partnered Mujaazef to victory last time out, said: ““He has been in a amazing form this season but does have to give weight to his rivals after his winning streak. Jebel Ali is not always the easiest place to give weight away but he loves the surface and seems in great form. He has to go close.”

However, Terrific Challenge who chased Mujaazef home in the previous outing over a shorter distance may find the 1200 metre trip too long.

But trainer Satish Seemar is still confident that the veteran son of Royal Academy can still deliver and said: “The 1000m is probably my fellow’s optimum trip but he stays the extra 200m well enough. Mujaazef had the advantage of race fitness last time so hopefully we can give him plenty to think about as my horse will have come on from that outing.”

However, the official feature of the afternoon is the third race, the 1800m Jebel Stakes Prep Conditions sponsored by Derrinstown Stud.

Yirga looks the one to beat under the Grandstand Stables jockey Royston Ffrench while Ahmed Ajtebi will jump on the other runner Glen Nevis.

Trainer Ali Rashid Al Raihe has been always confident that the seven-year-old son of Cape Cross has the gallop and stamina to stay the extended distance and would be difficult to beat.

Ffrench said: “Conditions suit them both but Yirga’s comeback was very pleasing and he was only just touched off over 1600m. This extra 200m should really suit him and, with that run under his belt, we have to be very hopeful. We have made such a good start to the season at Grandstand Stables that it would be lovely to think we can keep it going. We have some nice chances this weekend and hopefully Yirga is one of the best ones.”

Ibn Al Nafis looks an interesting contender for trainer Satish Seemar, who also has Eddie Jock among the eight declared, but stable jockey Richard Mullen has chosen Ibn Al Nafis, explaining: “Eddie Jock will run his usual solid race but Ibn Al Nafis is a horse we have always thought a lot of. He won his first three ever starts, all at Jebel Ali, but then missed last season. He has needed his two runs so far this season and hopefully the trip will suit as he was staying on last time.”

KT Selections: 1. AS Muheeb 2. AS Mushrif 3. Yirga 4. Trust N Dustan 5. Secretive 6. Fantastic Dubai 7. Alo Pura.

Day’s best: Yirga
