Ruben Eduardo Caro, Ambassador of Argentina in the UAE, announced that four top teams would compete for the title. “We are delighted to have the fourth edition of the polo tournament, and proud to organise the championship with La Martina for the second consecutive year, which we think is putting immense efforts to popularise this game in the UAE,” Caro said.
Caro added that Dubai is qualified to host world-class polo games and it enjoys a great sense of hospitality to welcome all the international teams coming to compete here in a sporting ambience, reflecting the great spirit of the UAE and Argentina.
Zaid Al Khayyat, managing partner, Al Khayyat Investments LLC which represents La Martina in the UAE, said: “It is a matter of pride for La Martina to co-organise this event with the Embassy of Argentina in the UAE for the second year. The tournament is evolving into one of the most important and prestigious polo tournaments in the region.”
Al Khayyat added: “We noticed pleasantly that the game of polo is attracting growing interest in the UAE. We anticipate this tournament to get a wider response and anticipate a great number of spectators to watch the games.”
“We are very excited to host La Martina Argentina Polo Cup at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club for a second year in a row and we look forward to some exciting polo,” said Vasken Vartanian, sales and marketing manager of Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.
The La Martina Argentina Polo Cup will be held under the rules and regulations of the Hurlingham Polo Association, the governing body of the sport in the UK and Ireland.
