The John Dunlop-trained filly earned her place in the Oaks with an eyecatching victory in a listed race at Goodwood last Wednesday as she made it two successive wins and her third in her five starts.

Andersson - who co-wrote the majority of the now disbanded band’s chart hits including ‘Dancing Queen’ and Eurovision Song Contest winner ‘Waterloo’ - has contacted Dunlop and said she should definitely take her chance in the classic run over a mile-and-a-half.

“She’s definitely going to run,” said 71-year-old Dunlop, who is bidding for a third triumph in the race but first in 21 years.

“I’ve spoken to the owner and he was very keen to have a runner, so we’re looking forward to it.”

Beatrice Aurore is as short as 16/1 for the race, though, she can still be backed at 20/1 in what is considered a wide open contest this year.

Andersson has gone on to enjoy great success since Abba disbanded in 1982 co-composing the hit musicals Chess - along with long-time collaborator and fellow Abba member Bjorn Ulvaeus - and Mamma Mia.
