The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) and Emirates Falconers’ Club (EFC) are jointly promoting the event.
Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, and Chairman of EFC, inaugurated the event.
Also attending the opening ceremony were Shaikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Mohamed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Director General of ADACH; Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Communications Director at ADACH and Chairman of the Organising Committee, in addition to a number of senior officials and diplomats. As many as 589 exhibitors are showcasing their products and services in outdoor activities relating to hunting, safari, weaponry, falconry, equestrian and outdoor sports.
Over 100,000 visitors across all age groups and nationalities are expected to visit the exhibition.
Over 75 per cent of the exhibitors from the 2009 edition rebooked for this year’s event emphasising the great networking opportunity and unique commercial leads offered by Abu Dhabi International Hunting & Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), regionally and internationally.
ADIHEX 2010, which resides over eight halls of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, has brought leading global brands from over 39 countries across hunting, safari, weaponry, falconry, equestrian and outdoor sporting categories.
These include Sweden-based VO Gun & Rifle Maker, the company that produces some of the world’s most exclusive handmade rifles for hunting and collection.
VO Gun, which has been an exhibitor at ADIHEX since 2003, is showcasing its limited edition of high end weaponry specifically designed for ADIHEX 2010.
Also present is SSE, the exclusive regional distributor for Polaris, the world’s largest manufacturer of all terrain vehicles, rangers, and specialised sporting equipment, which has returned to ADIHEX for the fourth successive year.
Also returning the third consecutive year is The Falcon Centre, renowned falcon breeders, which has doubled its exhibition space from last year.
International weaponry distributor, MP3, another loyal exhibitor at ADIHEX, is occupying the largest exhibition space in the weaponry arena.
International Golden Group (IGG), a leading defence product and system supplier in the UAE, which closed deals in excess of Dh200 million in last year’s edition, has also returned to this year’s edition.
Additionally, the Shaikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Flat Racing Festival, in association with ADACH, the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities and the Emirates Arabian Horse Society, is organising the first-ever World Arabian Horse Racing Conference in Abu Dhabi from today to September 25, alongside ADIHEX 2010.
The three-day conference, being organised in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, will bring together hundreds of experts, researchers and breeders involved with purebred Arabian horse racing from over 20 countries.
