Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Medical Practices and Licensing, opened the conference on behalf of UAE Minister of Health, at Dubai InterContinental Festival City and Exhibition. The conference was organized by Cordoba Spine Masters for the fifth year in Dubai.

About 18 professors from specialized universities gave lectures during the conference.

Dr. Amin Al Amiri said in his opening speech: “The conference is held outside the USA in Dubai only because of the high ranking position of the UAE in general and the capability of organizing and hosting important conferences in Dubai specifically”.

He stated that the ministry of health encourages the organization of such important conferences and exhibitions to provide the opportunities for local, Arab and regional medical staff to benefit from the modern and advanced used technologies in this field.

The conference entails evidence-based instructional lectures, complex case studies, panel discussions and knowledge forums. Practical sessions with hands-on demonstrations led by the course’s elite faculty enabled the participants to familiarize themselves with the latest surgical strategies and instrumentation techniques.

Al Amiri added that 70% of the participants come from the Middle East which shows that Dubai has become one of the international medical hubs and a competitive medical market.

The conference is one of the biggest specialized conferences in the field of spine surgery and is attended by global spine surgery professors from well-known and recognized US universities. It also presents 17.5 CME hours from the US Medical Education Association.

The conference concentrates on complex spine reconstruction and deformity management strategies, including degenerative spine diseases, scoliosis, trauma, tumors and motion sparing devices. The conference is also participated by 35% from Europe, 29% from the Middle East, 11% India, 10% from South America, 8% from North America and 7% from other countries.
