The French healthcare system is known for being one of the best in the world. Its healthcare industry is supported by a number of innovative companies, where 94 per cent are in the small and medium enterprises (SME) category. The sector covers crucial areas such as diagnostic imaging, disposable devices, implants, prostheses and ortheses.
"France is known for its world-class healthcare system and has played a leading role as a pioneer in the medical field," said Marc Cagnard, Middle East Director of Business France.
France has been winning the healthcare market share, consolidating its ranking as the seventh major healthcare supplier, thanks to the positive image of its products and strong reputation in research and development, he said.
France's global expertise in healthcare took centre stage at Arab Health 2017 as 130 companies covering a number of key areas of the sector put on a strong display at Arab Health,  the Middle East's largest healthcare exhibition in Dubai.
The French pavilion, organised by Business France, hosted three major hospitals - Paris Saint Joseph Hospital, Saint Grégoire Private Hospital in Rennes and American Hospital in Paris.
The three French hospitals showcased their expertise in the latest research technology, multidisciplinary care and high-quality treatment techniques in areas such as obesity and diabetes treatments, cardiology and vascular surgery, oncology, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, sports medicine, healthcare assessments, etc.
