On the joyous occasion of our Group's 20th Anniversary, I thank Almighty Allah who has bestowed upon us this glory and success. Fathima Healthcare Group is celebrating its 20 years of excellence and dedication to high-quality standards in health insurance and third party administration. I believe that the success of our Group for the past two decades is not only because of our perseverance but because of our trustworthy partners and role players - insurance companies, corporate heads, customers (cardholders) and healthcare providers.
Fathima Healthcare Group initiated the concept of cost-effective healthcare management to provide medical insurance facilities to then 80 per cent of the population in the UAE who did not have medical security.
There was a big challenge for the insurance companies to provide medical insurance schemes to blue-collar workers. Our research and development team acquired knowledge from U.S. and U.K. National Health Systems in the year 2000 to 2004 and created the medical insurance concept. FMC started administrating medical insurance schemes in association with local insurance companies. FMC was a pioneer in adding value to this compulsory medical insurance scheme.
Our other important role players are the corporates. The conventional insurance package and premium used to cost very high for corporates and they were unable to include it in their annual budget. When insurance companies approached corporates with low budget medical Insurance scheme in association with FMC's management, they were able to bring down the premium to an affordable level. This was a big relief for corporates, and hence were ready to provide medical insurance facility to their employees.
I thank the healthcare providers of the UAE who gave their wholehearted support and cooperation when we approached them with this concept and the schemes. I recognise and appreciate their role play in accordance with the scheme in serving our members with high-quality medical services in coordination with many government bodies. Today, 2,500 healthcare providers are partnering with FMC Network in the UAE, India and other GCC countries.
The general well being of customers is our prime concern and I thank our providers, corporates and the insurance companies who have supported us to withhold our ideas and vision of providing cost-effective and affordable healthcare for all our cardholders. I also thank our staff who have sincerely followed our mission and have been delivering their best for the past 20 years.
At this point, I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all the Rulers and Government of the UAE for giving us a land of positivity and stability, which has helped the founder chairman of this Group to successfully implement his ambitious concept. On behalf of our fellow Indian compatriots, I would like to express that Dubai is our second home and this country has become a global role model in providing highest quality of life to all its citizens and expatriates residing in the UAE. - Dr. Beena Hussain, Consultant Radiologist, Executive Director Fathima Healthcare  Group
