The airline was the first European carrier to return its flight schedule to the Middle East back to normal from April 20. It will be restoring its three weekly non-stop flights between Kuwait and Frankfurt, once again reconnecting Kuwait to the rest of the world.

"We are proud to be the first European airline to recommence flights to and from Kuwait. Even though our offices were open during the suspension of the flights, our pilots and crew were looking forward to the time when they would fly these skies again," said Mike Khan, Manager Representative for Lufthansa German Airlines Kuwait on arrival of Lufthansa flight LH 636 to Kuwait.

Serving Kuwait for 40 years, Lufthansa had temporarily suspended flights to and from the market due to the safety and security of their passengers, staff and crew.

Captain Ulrich Fuchs said: "We were all really happy to see Kuwait International Airport again. The hospitality we have experienced in Kuwait and the region as a whole is without exceptionm which had made it that much disapppointing for us to hear the suspension of flights last month."
