The Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) have again issued a stern warning to residents - particularly youths - against making frivolous calls on the emergency number, 999.
Taking to social media, the police recently posted a video urging youths to refrain from calling 999 as a prank or for a non-emergency related enquiry as the line gets engaged, which might put a genuine emergency call on hold.
A few minutes could mean saving someone's life, the police added.
Earlier this year, the ADP launched a campaign to educate residents about such non-urgent or prank calls, after a boy dialled the emergency number inviting officers for lunch.
