Shaikh Mohammed was briefed by the officials on the achievements and initiatives implemented by the Ministry in the last academic year as well as the field preparations, logistics and human resources for the academic year 2012/2013.
Humaid Mohammed Obeid Al Qatami, Minister of Education, welcomed Shaikh Mohammed and described his visit, which comes as part of his tour of various ministries and federal institutions, as a gesture to assess the achievements in the nation’s march into progress.
The Minister, assisted by senior officials, gave His Highness a comprehensive presentation on the ongoing preparations to welcome the new academic year.
The minister also explained the modernisation of the syllabi and the printing of the text books needed for various levels in the school education.
He also presented a statistical report on the maintenance of the schools and the efforts to equip them with all the needs in preparation for welcoming students in the new academic year which starts in the first week of September this year.
The Minister also shed light on the initiatives to provide education to children with special needs and the implementation of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Initiative for Smart Learning which was launched earlier in April this year.
Shaikh Mohammed gave directives to the officials to be keen on announcing the examination results on time. He also directed them to give particular importance in spreading Arabic language through education.
