Present at the meeting were Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council; Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler and First Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council; Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chief Executive of the Emirates Group and airline who is also the second Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director of the Dubai Ruler’s Court; Abdulla Al Shaibani, Dubai Executive Council Secretary-General; Hussein Nasser Lootah, Director-General of the Dubai Municipality; Ahmed Abdullah Al Sheikh, Director-General of the Government of Dubai Media Office; and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality.
During the meeting, Shaikh Mohammed viewed briefs of the educational strategy in Dubai, Dubai the Model Centre, Dubai the International Islamic Centre for Halal Certificates, and Dubai Government Excellence Programme.
Abdulla Al Shaibani demonstrated the main features of the Dubai educational strategy. He also underscored the main challenges in the education sector.
Shaikh Mohammed also viewed Dubai the Model Centre document that includes several sectors, including government services sector for which 75 per cent of the Dubai government’s budget is allocated, to improve government services. Dubai the Model Centre document classifies the main services in 12 government bodies.
The meeting also discussed the document related to Dubai the International Islamic Centre for Halal Certificates. This document includes the idea of the centre and its objectives, including guaranteeing and providing assessment services and issue halal certificates in accordance with Islamic regulations and laws.
The meeting also reviewed a special document related to the Dubai Government Excellence Programme which mainly aims to develop government sector and encourage competition, cooperation, innovation, excellence and quality.
Shaikh Mohammed commended the efforts of the Dubai Executive Council under the chairmanship of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He also praised all affiliating committees and work teams, emphasising the importance of developing ways of cooperation and coordination between the Dubai Executive Council and all concerned government and private departments and bodies in Dubai to achieve first place in all sectors, especially the service sectors.
Dubai Ruler also praised the positive steps, studies and programmes being prepared by the council to serve citizens and residents of the country and to bring about benefit to the national economy as well as to enhance the country’s reputation regionally and internationally.
