Rashid Academic Excellence award winners honoured
Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, attended the annual ceremony to honour winners of the Rashid Award for Academic Excellence organised by the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai on Wednesday.
A total of 139 UAE citizens who obtained doctoral degrees in various disciplines received the awards at the ceremony held under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Speaker of the Federal National Council, Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, and Minister of Education Humaid Mohammed Obid Al Qattami accompanied Shaikh Maktoum.
The Dubai Cultural and Scientific Association established the Shaikh Rashid Award for Academic Excellence in 1988 under the patronage of Shaikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The association nominates and selects each year’s winners. They range from holders of master’s degrees and PhDs to outstanding students from the UAE’s universities, Higher Colleges and secondary schools.
Shaikh Maktoum congratulated the 139 winners, wishing them success in the service of the country.
