Mohammed to GCAA staff: Set example for future generations

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited Shaikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Shaikh Mohammed was briefed by Director-General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi on details of the strategic plan prepared by the GCAA to keep pace with the UAE government strategy and vision for 2021. After the presentation, Shaikh Mohammed launched “Pilots and Aircrews Electronic Licences” service. He also received from the GCAA Director-General, the electronic aviation licence issued in his name. Shaikh Mohammed went on to inspect the air control centre at the air navigation centre where he was briefed by the staff about the tasks of the centre.

Shaikh Mohammed praised the strategic plan of the General Civil Aviation Authority, which is on par with the federal government’s strategy and vision. He also hailed the efforts of UAE nationals who competently run the authority, saying that he relies on their capabilities in carrying out their national responsibilities and duties.

Addressing the authority’s staff, Shaikh Mohammed urged employees to acquire more knowledge to cultivate their expertise in order to take leading positions and to set an example for future generations.

Before leaving the place, Shaikh Mohammed signed a wall plateau that includes the names of the patrons of the awareness and instructive campaign launched by the Director-General of the General Civil Aviation Authority for the safety and security of passengers and planes. Accompanying Shaikh Mohammed on his visit were Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of the Emirates airline and Group; Mohammed Abdullah Al Gargawi, Cabinet Affairs Minister; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director of Dubai Ruler’s Court; Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan, Director of Dubai Ruler’s Office; Ahmed Abdullah Al Sheikh, Director-General of the Government of Dubai Media Office; Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality; Mohammed Juma Al Naboodah and a number of other senior officials.
