Khalifa invites Egyptian president to visit UAE

Egypt’s President Mohammed Mursi received here on Thursday visiting UAE Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The UAE Foreign Minister conveyed to President Mohammed Mursi best wishes from the UAE President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and delivered to him a letter from his UAE counterpart, inviting him to visit the UAE. The meeting discussed ways of boosting the distinguished bilateral ties in various spheres with emphasis on prospects of establishing joint ventures and increasing the UAE’s investment in Egypt.

Latest development in the Arab region were discussed during the talks which were also attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamil Amro and UAE Ambassador to Egypt Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri.

Egypt’s president on Wednesday promised to put Cairo back at the heart of Arab affairs and made an impassioned appeal to Arab states to work to end the bloodshed in Syria, saying the time had come to change the Syrian government. —
