The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Tuesday denied rumours about a decision to close shopping malls across the country, mentioning that the news was old, and was announced on March 23 because of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) on its Twitter handle announced that all news pertaining to the ministry will be shared on its official social media accounts, and urged the public not to believe in fake news, and rely only on verified social media accounts.
The March 23 circular reads that the UAE has closed all commercial centres and shopping malls, along with fish, meat and vegetable markets, for a renewable period of two weeks.
