The move comes as part of the government’s efforts to upgrade the services that are dependent on ID cards.
During the regular meeting of the committee on travel-banned people, held in Dubai , the Ministry of Justice praised Eida’s initiative to provide a hotline for the ministry, allowing it to inquire through the Emirates ID about the identities of individuals and get extra personal data on temporary basis until the electronic integration project between the two sides is completed. Highlighted the move, the ministry stated that the initiative would help minimise the time taken by searching the information related to defendants, not to mention its role in speeding up procedures.
During the meeting, which was attended by Abdullah Al Kindi, Operations Director at Eida, the authority reviewed the technological systems used for reading the data stored in the ID card, which provided world-class criteria for ensuring information security.
The Eida said the meeting is in line with the efforts in providing advanced services that would meet the needs of the government and private organisations through the electronic linkage project.
The application of the digital ID project (Electronic Certification Centre) was in line with the objectives of the authority’s strategic plan 2010-2013 and the projects and initiatives emanating from it.
