“National Day is not just a day to feel joy and recall annual memories, but it is of paramount importance to build and maintain trust,” he said in a speech delivered at the sixth Ajman Government Forum, organised by the Secretariat General of Ajman Executive Council on Tuesday.

He said the people of the country should remember the wisdom of the leaders, the determination of men and persistence of the people for the country’s unity.

History would record that the Union was a modern miracle, after seven scattered emirates united and gathered as one state to compete with all top countries in the world in advancement and progress, he said. The name of the UAE and the name of Zayed bin Sultan, alongside the names of all founding rulers, as well and every sincere person who contributed for the sake of this country, would go down in history, he said.

Meanwhile, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain Shaikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla attended a ceremony held by the government departments and institutions in the emirate to mark National Day on Wednesday. The programme included opening of exhibitions and various functions.

Similar celebrations marking the event were held in the American University, attended by Shaikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah.

Fujairah also saw boisterous celebrations on the occasion, held by the government departments and institutions in the emirate.
