Al Mansouri chairs GCAA board meeting

DUBAI - Economy Minister Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri today presided over 43rd meeting of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), in presence of Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and other board members.

The meeting discussed a number of issues, including GCAA fees, as well as the National Civil Aviation Council’s charter for managing the country’s air space and the creation of National Air Space Consultative Committee.

Al Mansouri said during the meeting that the UAE had made a huge progress in diversifying sources of income through vital sectors, including aviation, tourism, transport, manufacturing industries, trade and financial services.

He added that the volume of investment in UAE airports developments is expected to reach AED 100 billion within the next five years, while the number of passengers using UAE airports is set to reach 65 million by the end of 2012.
