Afghanistan thanks UAE for support
President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan has expressed thanks to the President, His highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for the unlimited support given by the UAE to the people of Afghanistan and to the efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace, security and stability there.
In a statement made on the sidelines of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) meeting, held last week in the United States, President Karzai said: “We will never forget the historic stances of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the government and the people of the UAE and their support Afghanistan and to the development, peace and stability there.”
Other Afghani officials also praised for political, diplomatic and financial support and the role played by the UAE in the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
