Lee Jong slotted in the all-important goal of the match nine minutes into the first half. The UAE lads tried to fight back but all their attempts were in vain.

With this result, the Koreans claimed the crown with six points from three encounters irrespective of the outcome of the remaining match between Egypt and Germany.

The crowning ceremony was attended by HE Nasser bin Thaloap, director of the UAEFA president and manager of the championship. Germany finished second and walked away with the silver medals as the UAE took the third place honours.

Korean striker Lee Jong claimed the best player and top striker’s trophy as compatriot No Donj vited the best keeper in the competition.

In another clash, Germany did the better work and edged Egypt 1-0 in their otherwise dull affair. Daniel fired home the solitary goal of the game in the 71st minute.
