No UFL role in Hamburg tie
DUBAI - The UAE Football League has clarified that it is not involved in any way in hosting the friendly match between Hamburg SV of Germany and Al Wahda FC of the UAE to be held on January 4, 2011.
This match is being organised by Germany’s Bundesliga and Dubai Sports Channel, UFL said in a statement issued on Wednesday.
“In contrast to recent comments and reports in the media, this match is not an annual match between the Super Cup Champions of Germany and the Super Cup Champions of UAE. Rather, this match is a friendly game being organised as part of Hamburg SV’s training camp in Dubai and it was on their request that an invitation was sent to Al Wahda Club to participate,” UFL added.
