Dewa invites proposals for Smart Grid strategy

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, or Dewa, is implementing a robust strategy to develop renewable energy projects to reduce its carbon footprint, based on its vision to be a sustainable world class utility.

The utility is inviting competent consulting firms to submit their proposals and tenders for the purpose of implementing a Smart Grid strategy to improve the effective utilisation of electricity by optimising the operation of generation, transmission and distribution networks. The last date for receiving completed tenders is on May 17, 2012.

Dewa is focusing on implementing a Smart Grid strategy to incorporate automated decision-making and interoperability.

Dewa focuses on connecting renewable energy resources to the grid, to achieve a green and cleaner environment, to encourage conservation, demand management, and a more-efficient management of infrastructure investments and grid operations.
