Al Tamayouz School in Al Ain won the first prize in the Junior High School-Preparatory level while International Jubilee Private School came first in the Elementary School-Primary level. The Khorfakkan Child Centre won second in the Elementary School-Primary Level.

Some of the 18 teams that participated in the WRO Arabia 2012 will also be competing for WRO 2012 final in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from November 9 to 11 under the theme ‘Robots Connecting People’.

Coinciding with the success of the Abu Dhabi students, representatives from the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) were also nominated to form the WRO Arabia Steering Committee. “While the Adec was the first to launch WRO Arabia, it’s also a fortunate coincidence that Adec representatives have been nominated by existing members of the WRO Advisory Council (the controlling body of the WRO competition) to become part of the committee, and to help run WRO international,” said Dr Najla Alraway Alnaqbi, Educational Technology Expert manager, Strategic Planning and Special Projects (Office of Strategic Affairs) at the Adec.
