Turning the pages of school history

When Dinesh Kothari and PS Dasgupta set out to give something back to the community little did they know that their journey would see them set up three schools in India and the Middle East. Starting in 1996, the duo set out to form a non-profit trust under Delhi Private School (DPS) to build a school in Jodhpur. Two years later, in 1998, DPS Jodhpur was born.

Moving from strength to strength, Delhi Private School Sharjah started in 2000. Starting with 142 students, the school grew from 25 classrooms into a full-fledged primary and senior secondary school with over 5,500 students today.

“Our students are torchbearers of our schools and they have excelled in various fields. All our schools are working on full-capacity and that speaks volumes about the success of DPS,” says Dinesh Kothari, pro vice chairman, DPS.

The school celebrated its 10 year anniversary at a special function hosted at Dubai Cricket Stadium in the presence of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and DPS chairman Ashok Chandra.
