Ibrahim Al Dabal, Director International Coordinator of the Security Education Programme, said that the programme being implemented under the supervision of Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, has achieved many positive results at all levels, especially in relation to educational and behavioral goals.
The programme initially started in five public schools in Dubai has been extended to all the 83 public schools in the emirate and from the beginning of the current academic year, 11 private schools also started applying the programme.
He added that the programme is a distinctive one that is specifically designed to reduce the negative impacts of the factors leading to delinquency, crime and behaviours that reject the UAE culture.
When the programme was initially applied in five public schools it helped improve the academic excellence and to reduce crimes among young people. It also trained young people to manage crises and challenges of life.
Al Dabal attributed the success of the programme to the unlimited support from top leaders in the Dubai Police, including Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, who spares no effort to provide all the needs and requirements for the implementation of the security education programme in coordination with 36 partners, who include government and private institutions, civil society organisations and sports clubs.
