The International Conference on Nursing, organised by the Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS) which operates under the Institute of Applied Technology (AIT), will feature 30 expert speakers from 10 countries. They will also host workshops for the nurses.
The conference will centre on the development of nursing knowledge including the methods of nursing practice in modern society and the need to develop these methods according to the requirements of the present time. The ‘specialisation in nursing’ is another key topic as the profession in gearing towards a more specialised approach in providing services to patients. The society’s changing view of the nursing profession as they move into bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees will also be discussed.
Dr Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Director General of the IAT noted the open approach of the conference.
“Doctors, nurses and technicians working in different health centres as well as students of nursing can raise issues at the forum,” he said.
Participants at the conference will also have access to the latest tools and nursing techniques according to the best international practices that are applied successfully in colleges and universities abroad.
