Mohammed attends AUD graduation ceremony

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended a ceremony for the 15th batch of graduates from the American University of Dubai (AUD) at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Wednesday.

The ceremony, marking the graduation of more than 500 students in various disciplines, took place in the presence of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

Shortly after entering Shaikh Rashid Hall, Shaikh Mohammed and the attendees listened to a rendition of the UAE and USA national anthems, followed by a speech from AUD Vice-President Elias Bou Saab.

In his speech, Bou Saab stressed the importance of seizing the opportunities available for graduates to achieve progress and meeting their goals.

At the conclusion of his speech, Bou Saab introduced the cermony’s guest of honour, US Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich who spoke on the occasion. He thanked the AUD for the invitation and hailed the comprehensive cultural renaissance experienced by the people of the UAE in various fields.

He also praised the level of education in the UAE and the AUD which can be compared to the prominent universities worldwide.

Following the speeches, Shaikh Mohammed distributed graduation certificates and congratulated the students on their success. He said that former graduates are occupying leading positions at the public and private entities in Dubai and UAE and they have proved their good merits in work.
