Draft law on compulsory education

The ministerial committee for legislations gave approval, on Monday, for the country’s draft law of compulsory education.

Compulsory education is a system under which every individual would receive education until a certain age.

At a meeting held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Justice, Dr Hadef Jouan Al Dhahiri, the committee gave a reading of the law after necessary amendments were introduced to the daft.

The proposed law will now be presented to the competent authorities for its promulgation.

The Minister of Education, Humaid Mohamed Obaid Al Qatami and the Minister of Environment and Water, Dr Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad and other members of the committee attended the meeting.
