Coronavirus: Up to 100% discount on fees for GEMS Education students

Dubai - More than 26,000 students across UAE set to benefit from offer.

Parents of over 26,000 GEMS Education students who applied for the Covid-19 Relief Package have to date received discounts - on the current term's fees -  ranging from 25 per cent to all the way up to 100 per cent in emergency cases.
 
More than 26,000 students across UAE's largest school education network is set to benefit from the financial assistance designed to support families that have been adversely impacted by the Coronavirus outbreak, with the average school fee discount offered currently standing at 33 per cent.
 
"All GEMS parents who have experienced a reduction in income as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, and who now have limited means to settle tuition fees were invited to apply for the Relief Package, with thousands applying in just a matter of days. Applications will continue to be processed moving forward, providing ongoing protection to those parents who suffer job losses, reduced pay or business disruption," said Dino Varkey, CEO at GEMS Education,
 
He said, "Our means-tested, targeted approach to providing financial assistance enables us to fulfil both of these commitments, and we firmly believe that we have struck the right balance between the two."
 
To date, it was revealed that GEMS schools have delivered in excess of 8.7 million collective online learning sessions.
