4,000 artworks from 65 countries to wow visitors at World Art Dubai 2024
Implemented from 2004 to 2020, these projects are part of the society's relentless effort to fight illiteracy worldwide, said Abdulqader Al Rais, director-general of Dar Al Ber.
"The society paid tuition fees and secured all the educational requirements of indigent students under these projects. Dar Al Ber spares no effort to help and support the needy students irrespective of their religion, language, colour and ethnic backgrounds."
Al Rais said the society covers a slew of educational projects across many countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
"The projects, funded by the contributions of the UAE philanthropists, includes the construction of schools, colleges, classrooms, and Islamic centres.
"Apart from tuition fees, school uniforms, bags, and desks have also been secured in collaboration with strategic partners all over the world."
Half of this amount is to cover the tuition fees of eligible students, according to Mohamed Suhail Al Muhairi, executive director of Dar Al Ber.
"The other half is to be used in buying tablet devices for eligible students so they can carry on their studies remotely," Al Muhairi said.
