The format of the show has been changed this year to include more students as schools can now send multiple teams. Previously, the contest only allowed two teams per school, permitting one team each for boys and girls.

Speaking with Khaleej Times, Kannu Baker, Quiz Master for Brain Hunt said, “We have been running this mega quiz show in the UAE every year since 2003. This year we are opening up the competition for more students as we hope to see a bigger participation. Some of the schools are really setting new standards in quizzing and we have to make the competition even more challenging.”

A special team in Delhi and Trivandrum will put together a question bank in excess of 1,000 questions, as students need to get through different rounds testing their knowledge on current affairs, science and technology and history, among others.

The grand finale, which is expected to be held sometime in the coming month (December), of the show is set to bring together thousands of school students to witness the quizzing genius of six finalists who will compete for the top prize.

Last year, students from the Abu Dhabi Indian School took the top honours in a thrilling finale at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Dubai.

Students short-listed by their school will sit through a selection round, which will then progress into a semi-final and final.
