A group of workers nabbed a thief while he was stealing electric wires, cords and connecting devices from a warehouse belonging to a company in the industrial area. The Asian suspect was handed over to the police.
The operations room of the police received a call from the workers reporting about the crime, which took place during the night. A police team immediately rushed to the site and found the suspect in the custody of the workers.
The police reviewed the camera and found out that the suspect along with four others infiltrated the area in the middle of the night using pickup vehicle, which was waiting for them outside. Some of the workers got a whiff of the theft and immediately rushed to the warehouse and managed to hold on to one of the thieves. The rest fled the scene.
During interrogation, the suspect - who entered the country on a visit visa - confessed that he attempted the theft along with four other accomplices of the same nationality.
He said his friends conducted recce of the area for one week and planned the theft. The police have launched an investigation and manhunt for the suspects who are on the run.
