The two defendants, identified as 21-year-old F.S. and 18-year-old M.N., also faced the charge of assaulting the student to force her to take off her clothes. They also faced the charge of consuming alcohol when they stood trial in the Court of First Instance.

The student told the prosecutor that M.N. called her on the phone and invited her to a party at F.S.’s flat at a tower in June. She reached there in a cab and M.N. paid for it.

She went inside the flat and only the two defendants were there. She noticed that they were having alcohol and sniffing glue. As she was sitting on a couch, F.S. got close and grabbed her hands while M.N. began undressing her but she resisted and went to the balcony where she screamed loudly for help. The security guard of the building came to her help later.M.N. pulled her inside and he and F.S. told her to take off her clothes willingly or they would force her to. M.N. then punched and kicked her which left her with bruises on her head, face, knees and lip.

The guard said during investigation that around 12.40am a woman resident came to tell him that she heard a woman’s screams from a flat. The guard followed her directions and knocked on the door where the screams came from. When the door was opened a few minutes later, the student walked out and was crying and looking very scared. She was barefoot with dishevelled hair and pale face.

The guard saw the flat in a mess. A police officer said they raided the flat with a prosecution warrant after the defendants failed to open the door willingly. The officer saw the flat in a mess with alcohol and glue bottles strewn on the floor. The defendants were intoxicated.
