According to the prosecution records revealed yesterday, at about 3am one night in July, three Iranian men — the third still at large — who were in the country on business visas kidnapped the woman after intercepting the cab she was in, telling the driver they knew her and would drop her off at her place.

They paid the taxi driver Dh100 higher than the actual fare of Dh58 and took the woman along. She rode in the front passenger seat.

The victim, a 28-year-old British executive manager, told the prosecutor that she became very drunk after sipping three glasses of wine at a hotel night club in Bur Dubai.

She blacked out and fell asleep only to wake up in a dark room and find herself being gang-raped and sexually assaulted by the accused and another man. The latter also filmed the rape.

They laughed at her as she fell helpless and begged them to leave her alone. When she tried to shout for help from the window, one of the men dragged her back.

They gang-raped and assaulted her several times, records show.

She then took a cab and went to her flat in the Meadows where she informed her roommate that she was raped. They then went together and filed a police complaint.

The Pakistani cabbie confirmed that the woman was very drunk and had asked him to drop her at the Arabian Ranches and then slept. He said she later told him to drop her at Jumeirah Beach Residence, before trying to leave without paying the Dh58 fare, but was stopped by a security guard. She then went back and sat in the driver’s seat, before the driver took away the switch key.

At that point, a car stopped and two men came to him and claimed they knew her, before paying Dh100 and driving away with her.

The victim’s roommate, a 26-year-old French training manager, testified that the victim came back at about 8.30am looking terrified and tense. She told her that she was raped and bleeding. The woman said she told the victim not to take a shower and just to change her clothes before they went together to the police station and reported the rape.

The taxi driver was tracked down through CCTV, while the police identified the defendants through their car number plate and the descriptions given by the taxi driver.

They admitted that all the three took turns raping her in the flat that belonged to one of them in Naif.

The police caught the two who are now on trial, while the third escaped. They are standing charges of kidnap, rape and illegal confinement.
