Three maids lived in the compartment, which was attached to a villa, and two allegedly being subjected to the molestation after the men stole their mobile phones and cash. The prosecution raised the charge of forcibly having sex with a woman against the first accused and of sexual assault and forceful burglary against the second accused. The duo were also charged with physical assault and trespassing on another’s property.
In the hearing on Sunday, the court ordered a lawyer be delegated to defend the first accused and deferred the case to January 27.
The first victim said that while she and her workmates were sleeping, they were awoken by three intruders — two of whom were masked. The defendants stole the maids’ mobile phones and took the cash found in their bags. They were beaten up and one of the men pulled her into the toilet, assaulted her and then forcibly had sex.
The other maid alleged that one of the two masked attackers pulled her to the bathroom and tried to rape her, but he beat her after she resisted him. He then let her go and grabbed another maid. The third maid testified that the third accused was holding a stick to stop them from escaping.
