The order was handed down by the Dubai Criminal Court on Sunday and the acquittal was made on the grounds that the time during which one must file a lawsuit had elapsed. It was also reported that the three accused had reached a reconciliation with the victims.
The three suspects identified as B.M.B, 29, A.H.N, 29, and Z.A.M, 28, were charged by the Public Prosecution with robbery by threat and force at knifepoint and stealing Dh14,700 from the targeted flat. The prosecution also brought the charge of consuming alcohol against the three men.
According to court records, the trio broke into the victims’ house, where three people were living, in the wee hours. One of the burglars, who was allegedly brandishing a knife, attacked one of the victims who sustained bodily scratches and bruises. The second and third robbers allegedly stole Dh14,700 and the trio made off with the cash.
