The Sharjah Police managed to control and rescue a Nigerian man who attempted to commit suicide by jumping off a high-rise building in the emirate.
The police personnel convinced the man to descend the building, after which he was taken to Al Buhairah police station, to find the reasons for his attempt.
The police operations room had received a call about the man attempting to jump from a building in Al Nahda, around 8 am, and a rescue team was dispatched immediately with civil defence members to the site.
Police officials started talking to the man to prevent him from jumping, while team members moved in and physically controlled him. He was then taken into police custody.
