He added that the coordination has contributed towards foiling many international drug smuggling operations.

This came in a letter received by Major-General Abdul Jalil Mahdi Mohammed Al Asmawi, Director-General of the General Department for Anti-Narcotics at Dubai Police, from Roy Aflak about enabling the Zambian authorities in Lusaka on April 10, to thwart the largest smuggling of cocaine in its history, thanks to the intelligence provided by the Dubai Police on the suspects who were arrested in Lusaka. The suspects were Bolivians, a man and a woman, both aged 31, coming from Sao Paulo in Brazil on their way to Zambia.

The Zambian authorities seized over 13kg of cocaine based on accurate and valuable information concerning the passengers passed by the airport section of the anti-narcotics of Dubai Police through the agency to the Zambian authorities. The suspects were arrested while they were trying to smuggle the large amount of cocaine in their stomachs and luggage. Al Asmawi stressed in a statement, on Sunday, the significance of international cooperation in combating the drugs.
