The 28-year-old Bangladeshi cleaner was charged with molestation. During investigation, he denied having peeped at the woman intentionally, claiming that he was just doing his cleaning job.

The complainant, a 38-year-old Filipina decor designer, told the prosecutor that the incident happened when she was about to take a shower. She closed the window of the bathroom which was slightly open and undressed.

As she was drawing the curtains of the bathtub, she noticed that the window was opened again.

She then realised that someone was watching her. She got out of the bath tub and closed the window again. She then wrapped a towel around her and looked at the window and saw a man, the defendant, opening it again.

She yelled at him and rushed out of the bathroom and called the police. A police corporal said in the investigation that he was on duty that day in April when he was informed by the operations room of the Dubai Police about a problem at a building in Sports City. He went to the building and heard from the woman that she saw a man peeping at her.

The officer learnt that the defendant worked as a cleaner at the building where the complainant lived. The building watchman was sen

t after the cleaner. When confronted, the cleaner denied he was peeping.

He was arrested and taken into the Bur Dubai Police custody.
