According to a police source, the suspect used to respond to advertisements for roommates in sharing accommodations appeared on newspapers. After meeting the advertiser, he would agree to all his conditions including the rent. After staying there for several days, he would steal all the valuables and cash of his roommate and disappear. He gave fake names and details to all his victims.
The police official said that they received many complaints about thefts of the same manner. The police managed to identify the man and arrested him from a room in the industrial area.
During interrogation the suspect confessed that he had committed a number of thefts at bachelors’ apartments in sharjah and Ajman.
He also told the police that he had stolen a car of one of his victims.
The Sharjah Police warned the public not to deal with strangers and not to allow them to enter their houses. Residents should avoid relation through advertising which could cause them to get in serious trouble.
