Dubai - A 32-year-old Emirati allegedly murdered his septuagenarian father after the latter intervened as the former assaulted his sister. The family told the police the suspect is suffering from mental health problems.

According to the complainants — the suspect’s siblings — the suspect was assaulting his sister over a dispute they had when their father intervened. The suspect then started assaulting his father and allegedly held him by the neck.

His siblings separated the two and managed to lock the suspect out of the house. However, their father started bleeding from the nose. He was rushed to Rashid Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
