The incident took place as the man was getting out of a mosque after offering his Dhuhr (Noon) prayers. The Central Operations Room of the RAK Police that was alerted about the mishap, dispatched a rescue chopper to the to Asfini Valley. Major pilot Saeed Al Yamahi, Head of Air Wing of RAK Police, said the victim, identified as S.M.A., lost balance because of the bad weather conditions, heavy rains, strong winds, and wild streams in that area.

“The man received serious deep cuts in the head which led to a lot of bleeding,” he said.

The rescue team provided first aids to the victim and airlifted him to the hospital for medical care and treatment.

“All residents, particularly mountaineers and campers here must be more cautious in bad weathers to avoid such grievous accidents,” he added.

Late last September, the Air Wing of RAK Police saved the life of an Asian worker in an oil tanker in the regional waters after he had one of his left hand fingers amputated. The rescue team reached the injured worker in minutes and airlifted him to the nearest hospital. It was difficult for the pilot to land on the moving tanker, and fly balanced with the victim. The victim underwent a surgery and got his fingers back.
