In January this year, the Emirati owner and manager of the company, A.A., had lodged a complaint claiming that the 30-year-old Arab woman stole Dh27,500 from the safe she was assigned to be the caretaker. The police arrested her and recovered a duplicate key of the safe from her car.

She confessed that she had been taking money from the safe against receipts with the knowledge of the company manager who filed the complaint against her. She, however, denied stealing such a large amount, saying a personal dispute between her and the manager had prompted the latter to frame her in the case.

She was referred to the Public Prosecution which charged her with stealing. The Criminal Circuit of the Fujairah Court sentenced the woman to a suspended prison term of six months.
