Fujairah police impound 21 vehicles for violations
As many as 21 vehicles have been impounded in Fujairah for flouting traffic rules and disturbing public order.
The action was taken by the Fujairah Police against a number of errant motorists in the first week of the campaign, which has been rolled out in pursuance of the directives of His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, who called for intensifying night patrols to prevent unruly youth gatherings at certain popular landmarks and residential areas.
Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, Commander-in-chief of Fujairah Police, said implementing these directives derived from the keenness of Shaikh Hamad on protecting public properties, providing security and safety to Emiratis and expatriates, as well as keeping a vigilant eye over youths and directing them to spend their time purposefully in doing things that would benefit them.
He appreciated the efforts of the team lead by Lieutenant-Colonel Saeed Ali Al Hamar Al Yamahi, director of special missions department, in keeping the emirate in order and deterring anyone who tries to disturb public order or flout rules and traffic laws.
Fujairah Police has urged the public to report such reckless behaviour and unruly youth gatherings, by calling the Operations Room on 999.
