Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, has praised the officials for taking prompt action and bringing him to the book.

Brigadier Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, said the UAE officials concerned had provided all support.

Al Mansouri said, KL, the, owner of the school, had fled the country after expropriating the fees. The Dubai police received complaints from parents after they found that the institute had shut down, and the Dubai Interpol jointly with the Abu Dhabi Interpol left to the neigbouring country to extradite the suspect.

Al Mansouri has called up on parents to lodge civil suits to claim their money.

Col Salem Al Rumaithi, Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, said complaints were lodged at the Bur Dubai Police Station and all files will be completed and referred to the Dubai Public Prosecution.

An official at the school said he received an e-mail from the suspect saying that he had loans and that banks had lodged a complaint against him. He added that his wife had also lodged a complaint and hence he had decided to run away.

He added that some teachers had not been paid salaries for two months.

The police had contacted the Emirati partner who said he had no clue about the money. He added that the suspect had financial problems and that school officials had confirmed making contact with him a few days ago, while he was in Oman.

The closure of the school had left parents with no other option to provide care for children with learning difficulties because it was the only school offering such facilities, and the school was reopened some days later.
